Is SHITmic free?
Yes. The app is free to use and share.
Does filter off mute the mic?
No. Filter off is clean pass-through. Use Stop Audio Routing only when you want SHITmic to stop sending audio.
Why does the game use CABLE Output?
Because SHITmic writes into CABLE Input, and the other end of that virtual cable is CABLE Output. The game listens to the output end.
Can I hear myself?
Use Windows Sound Settings → Recording → CABLE Output → Properties → Listen, then choose your headphones. Watch for feedback.
What should the levels be?
Try to keep normal speech peaking around -12 dB to -6 dB on TO GAME. If it says CLIP, lower Output Volume or Input Gain.
Can I build an EXE?
Yes. The app ZIP includes BUILD_EXE_WINDOWS.bat. Run it on Windows to create dist\SHITmic.exe.
